Shell Oil Products Africa (SOPAF)

Perception Surveys for the Leadership and staff

    MEASURE

In January 2004, Shell launched an organisational unification change initiative across Africa. They required a means to collate the views and attitudes from the staff at all levels to the senior management through to the senior executive of Shell Africa.

    INNOVATE

EurekaStep was asked to conduct bi-annual leadership and employee surveys and in response to the results, created HR materials in both English and French to tackle the major issues.

One of these resources, the SOPAF HR Manual - online and CD-Rom based - includes Group principles, Leadership information, the SOPAF People Plan, Learning & Training resources, Diversity & Inclusiveness Information, the Shell Employee and Leadership HR Toolkits.

    SOLVE

We provided the consulting for on-site facilitation meetings and group workshops around the results. In response, Shell is now more in touch with the feelings and attitudes of staff and senior management as a group.
By utilising an independent survey company such as EurekaStep everybody now has more freedom to express themselves frankly with anonymity.
Key issues have now been highlighted and are being addressed more meaningfully, based on received feedback.
Stakeholders have been provided with a collective platform to raise issues that would not normally have been addressed until late into the change process. Ultimately, the change process is on track for success.
