Houses of Parliament

E-Tabling system for the submission and monitoring of questions to the government and Early Day Motions.

    MEASURE

In a typical government session, circa 75,000 questions are tabled. Prior to EurekaStep’s involvement in the process, significant processing work was required to document the questions, not to mention the vast quantities of paper wastage.

    INNOVATE

As there was no ‘off-the-shelf’ solution in existence for this particular function, EurekaStep prototyped and then delivered an on-line system to run the e-Tabling system to sit on the Parliamentary intranet facilitating the easy submission and monitoring of questions to government electronically.

Further system functionality incorporates management reports, user administration, system variable management, etc. A second system now delivered runs Early Day Motions.

    SOLVE

Main benefits include far greater efficiency within the heart of this government process, greatly improved communication, and therefore much quicker results for the public, as represented by their MP’s. Operational costs have also been dramatically reduced. This was the first delivery of the Select Committee of Modernisation under Robin Cook.
